Below I will list down step by step on how I managed to
obtain my class 3 driving license in Singapore, Mar 2016.
1.
I opened an online account and registered for my
Basic Theory Test (BTT) at ComfortDelGro Driving Centre (CDC) Customer Service

4.
After passing FTT and obtaining a PDL, I went to
the coffeeshop outside the driving centre and randomly asked around to find a
Private Driving Instructor (PDI).
4.5. I would
recommend finding your driving instructor before about 2 weeks before passing
FTT as getting a feel of driving would make the FTT much more applicable to you
and help you understand good driving habits better as PDIs may not explain or
elaborate on their instructions.
5.
After passing FTT and about 1 week of driving (3
lessons), I applied for the next available slot for Traffic Police (TP) Driving
Test through the online portal, logging in with your CDC account onto the
website http://www.cdc.com.sg/. It was
about a month later, 11 Mar 2016.
6.
I took a total of 12 lessons before going for
the TP Driving Test.
7.
I failed my first driving test in CDC.
8.
My PDI recommended me to take the test at Singapore
Safety Driving Center (SSDC), located at 2
Woodlands Industrial Park E4, 757387, as the roads are less congested,
leading to an easier pass on the test.
9.
I opened an account at SSDC (have to go down
personally, same as CDC) and booked the next available TP test on 16 Mar 2016.
10.
I spent 3 days, intensively learning the routes
and circuit at SSDC before taking the test.
11.
I managed to pass the test and applied for a Class
3 Driving License at SSDC on 16 Mar 2016.
